This Privacy Policy explains how HD Video Downloader (the app), provided by Fusion Media (we, us, our), handles information when you use the app. We aim to keep things simple. Most of what the app does stays on your own device.

No account required

No account or login is required to use the app. You do not need to give us a name, email, or password to download and save videos.

Video links you paste

When you paste a video link, that link is sent to our server so it can fetch and prepare the video for download. We do not control or permanently store the source content that the link points to. The link is used to carry out your download request.

Where your downloads live

Downloaded videos are saved on your own device, in a public folder named HDVideo. A small list of your completed downloads and cached thumbnail images are stored locally on your device only. We do not receive copies of your saved videos or your downloads list.

Permissions the app may request

Notifications (on Android 13 and newer): used to show download progress and let you know when a download is complete.
Storage (on older Android versions only): used to save videos to your gallery.

You can review or change these permissions at any time in your device settings.

The app may display ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, in line with Google's policies. You can reset your advertising identifier or opt out of ad personalization in your device settings.

Analytics and crash reporting

The app may use Google Firebase for basic, aggregated analytics and crash reporting. This helps us understand general app usage and fix problems. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

Support requests

If you contact us through the in-app form, we receive the name, email, and message you submit. These messages are delivered to us through our form provider, Formspree. We use this information only to respond to your request.

How we use information

To fetch and prepare the video for the link you paste.
To show download progress and notifications.
To display and measure ads through Google AdMob.
To understand general, aggregated usage and to fix crashes.
To respond to support messages you send us.

Selling of data

We do not sell personal data.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Data retention

Video links sent to our server are used to carry out your download request and are not kept as part of a permanent profile about you. Your downloads list and cached thumbnails stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Support messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and our records. Analytics and ads data are retained according to the policies of Google Firebase and Google AdMob.

Your choices

Delete saved videos and clear your downloads list from within the app or your device file manager.
Revoke notification or storage permissions at any time in your device settings.
Reset your advertising identifier or opt out of ad personalization in your device settings.
Uninstall the app to remove its locally stored data from your device.

Third-party services

The app relies on a small number of third-party services, including Google Play, Google AdMob, Google Firebase, and Formspree. These services handle data under their own policies. The source site behind any link you paste is also a third party that we do not control.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
